1. We will watch the first half of the film "Arrival".
2. During viewing: 


TYPES OF NON-RECALL QUESTIONS
1. Moral/ethical dilemmas 
Provide classmate with a problem or situation, and ask them to explore one or more of the moral and ethical concerns. 
Try to get them thinking about the topic from multiple sides, giving them a broader understanding of the subject. 

2. Assess → Diagnose → Act 
Assessment: What is the issue or problem at hand? 
Diagnosis: What is the root cause of this issue or problem? 
Action: How can we solve the issue? 

3. Compare and Contrast 
Ask your classmate to make connections and identify differences between ideas that can be found in class texts, articles, images, videos and more etc. 

4. Interpretive → Evaluative 
Begin with questions about the intentions or goals of the filmmaker or a character. Then ask classmat to evaluate the veracity of these intentions, and finally the effectiveness of the methods used. 

5. Conceptual Changes 
Introduce classmate to a new concept or idea, then ask them to search online to find a common misconception about this topic and explain it in their answer.

1. Legend of Sugar Girl - it is in your personal OneNote folder/inquiry 3
2. Before reading: Research the typical elements of traditional stories that are told orally. List them on the left side of a Venn diagram. After reading: How are the two styles similar or different: on the right side of the Venn diagram list ways that Legend of Sugar Girl is different to a traditional story; in the center of the Venn diagram mention things that traditional stories and Legend of Sugar Girl have in common?
