  1. Work another draft of your speeches. NEW DRAFT DUE ON MONDAY.
  2. Fix run-on sentences, capitalization, spelling in your speech
  3. Reorganize so you have “what is” and “what could be" in your speech
  4. Within the “what is” and “what could be” paragraphs, use PEE, in your speech
  5. Add a star moment to your speech.
  6. Include MORE tools of manipulation - don’t just use repetition! Pathos, ethos, logos in your speech.
  7. end with “new bliss."

  1. Review of how to identify and fix run-on sentences.
  2. PEE clarification and practice. How does this relate to “what is” “what could be”?
  3. PATHOS, LOGOS, ETHOS how to put them into your speech.

  1. Read non-fiction book
  2. Add parallelism to speech rubric and to your speech. 
  3. Speeches - what was good about them - purpose/goal very clear; thesis clear; most speeches showed evidence of manipulation devices. Things to work on: Credibility; “What is” and “What could be” ; STAR moment; NEW BLISS; clear inclusion of Pathos, Ethos, Logos through rhetorical devices; clear word choices (diction) to suit audience; conventions - sentence structure.
  4. If you want to see the grade your speech would have received on a 6 point scale, I will post-it online tonight. You will have to log in to MyEd BC to see it.
