Did You know it's Read a Road Map Day!

1. Short story reading time. Spend 10-15 minutes doing this.
2. Discuss yesterday's short films. How did it go?
3. Capture the castle - short story quiz game!
4. Practice quiz on short stories. Have you learned anything yet???

Tuesday

Sourdough Bread Day!

1. Short story reading time. Spend 10-15 minutes doing this.

2. Short story terms through short films. View the films using your phones so you can have sound, or plug-in to the headphone jack on the computer for sound. I have placed a copy of yesterday's green chart into Office 365. Use the green photocopies for note taking. Go to the Content Library in Office 365. Copy the page called "Short story terms through short film". Create a new page in your Assignment folder and put a copy of the chart there. You may find you have to download a copy, work in Word and then put your completed chart back into Office 365: otherwise, you may not be able to type in the chart boxes.

Here are the links for the films for today and yesterday's film:
The Other Side of the Game https://vimeo.com/92659629 - focus on atmosphere, flashback, irony
Reflections https://vimeo.com/92659626 - focus on characterization, foreshadowing
Room 8 https://vimeo.com/64878402 - focus on setting and characterization, conflict

3. Once you have done the above film work, you could make a start on your final short story reading responses.

Monday

1. Short story reading time.
2. Short story terms: finish looking at the first paragraph of "Identities."
3. Look at a short film to highlight some other short story terms. Complete the chart.
