Friday - Block B/F  only

1. Complete the ad-deconstructions (assigned on Thursday) for Givenchy and Jerk Salsa in Office 365/Content library/Term 4/ Givenchy or Jerk Salsa.
2. Complete blue worksheet B9 Gender stereotypes in advertising. There are 4 ads below for chocolate. Complete the chart at the bottom of the page. Shape means the shape/size of the chocolate. I have placed a copy of the worksheet in Office 365 if you have lost yours, or if you were away and didn't get one. Copy and paste it into your Assignment folder. If you got the paper one, no need to put it into Office 365.

3. Complete B8 Looking behind the ad: implicit and explicit messages. Read through the sheet so you understand the difference between implicit and explicit messages. Complete Exercise 1 neatly your own lined paper and staple to the photocopy  - point form is fine. Complete Exercise 2 - ignore the instructions and do the following. Cross off the word "Ute" and write "truck". Watch the truck ads below and on your own lined paper note the differences in the target audience, the values, and the lifestyle presented in the various truck ads. Then do the same comparison of audience, values and lifestyle in the men's and women's diet soft drink ads. Finally, find your own example of a product that has been marketed to two very different target audiences and note the audience, values and lifestyles being promoted.

Thursday
1. Complete the ad deconstructions (Jerk Salsa; Givenchy)  that you will find in Office 365/Content library/term 4. Copy and paste each ad page into your Assignment folder and complete the questions.
